User-Tunable Shoe Sole
Energetics Research and Engineering is developing a proprietary design for a shoe sole in which the wearer can tune or change certain desired properties.
For instance, when the wearer is in a lesiurely state (walking or standing) the sole can be put into a 'comfort' condition profiding maximum comfort. When the wearer desires higher performance, such as in sport or running, the shoe sole can then be configured for a 'sport' condition providing necessary quicker response.
Each shoe can be tuned BY THE USER when performance is desired to change. This occurs with normal shoe manufacturing materials and methods. Thus, the shoe design provides customization and increased performance in a shoe without requiring new manufacturing methods.
